Pastor
LeRoy Williams, Jr.
Biography

Pastor
Leroy Williams, Jr. is the youngest of nine children born to the late Mamie (Lou) and Leroy Williams. He was raised in Swainsboro, Georgia
(approximately 200 miles from S.C.) by his mother Mrs. Lou since his father
died when he was six weeks old. Pastor Williams had a praying mother who was
very active in her church. Mrs. Lou instilled in him strong Christian and faith
based principles. She taught him the almighty power of prayer. This upbringing
had a profound impact on his life and has brought him, with the help of God, to
where he is today. Her prayers, determination, and commitment to God have
helped to shape him into the humble Man of God he is now.

Ages Baptist Church in Greenville,
South Carolina under the leadership
of Pastor Terry A. King. Pastor and Mrs. King became mentors and adoptive
parents to Pastor and Sister Williams since they were not native South Carolinians. Pastor Williams and Sister Williams
continue to maintain a close relationship with Pastor and Mrs. King.
Pastor
Williams is the Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Clemson, South Carolina
where the church’s motto is “Reaching the Lost, Teaching the Believer, Making
Disciples for Christ.” Through his
Ministry at New Hope,
the Lord is doing a great work in the life of the membership. During the past three years, several
ministries have been organized under his leadership. Those ministries include:
The Marriage Ministry, The Senior Citizens Ministry, The Senior Stewards
Ministry, The Health Ministry, The Evangelist and Outreach Ministry, and The
Media Ministry. Under Pastor Williams’ guidance and leadership a website for
the church was developed as another tool to reach out to the community, sick
and shut-in, and to maintain ongoing communication with his members. Under his leadership, Annual Woman’s Day and
Men’s Day were extended to three-day Conferences filled with power-house
preachers, training, and workshops. Additionally,
the church membership has increased and spiritual growth in the body is
apparent.
Pastor
Williams has increased New Hope’s
participation in world outreach and community missions. He is very active and
committed to his faith-based affiliations. He is aggressive in his
participation of The Union #2 Division of The Seneca River Missionary
Association. He is a member of The Greenville and Vicinity Baptist Ministers
Fellowship. Additionally, he is a member of the Progressive National Baptist
Convention, Incorporated where he serves as the State Field Representative for
South Carolina Missions Ministry. Pastor Williams often says that being good
stewards for God means being of service to people and helping the less
fortunate. All honor and glory for these
accomplishments is given to God who is the Ruler, the King and the Redeemer.
Pastor
Williams lives by the Sword of the Spirit (reverence to the Bible) as he
instills in his flock each Sunday Morning “This is the Word of God. It’s called
the Sword of the Spirit. It is my Spiritual Weapon. I can do what it says I can
do. I can be what it says I can be. I can have what it says I can have. Devil… I’m armed and dangerous! Devil… I’m going to tear down your kingdom
and take everything back that you stole from me! Now let’s give a hand clap of
praise to the Lord!”
Sister
Williams is certified by the State of S.C.
as a Clinical Addictions Counselor level II. She holds a graduate certification
in Professional Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in
Psychology/Sociology. She also holds two Masters Degrees - one in
Counseling and one in Human Resource Development. She is currently nearing
the completion of her PH.D in Human Services. Sister Williams has authored a
bestseller workbook in the Mental Health Profession entitled A New Beginning Recovery Workbook. She is the Director at Addlife
Addiction Services with the Greenville Hospital System and works as an Adjunct
Professor with Greenville
Technical College.
Sister Williams is a well sought after speaker and counselor for many church
and faith groups, women’s ministries, and relationship building ministries.
Pastor and Sister Williams are definitely a dynamic duo. They work together as
a praying team led by the Holy Spirit.
Pastor Williams is dedicated to his calling. His
favorite scripture is” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens
me.” Philippians 4:13. His desire is to see men and women saved at
any cost. That means going into the
hedges and highways compelling men and women, boys, and girls, to come on the
Lord’s side and live a righteous and just life. Pastor Williams believes in
going out in the community and reaching out to those outside of the church
walls. He is only a voice in the
wilderness telling people about Jesus and all He’s done for him. Pastor Williams proclaims, “It’s not about
me, but it is all about Christ” He loves God and he loves God’s
People. Our Pastor is fun and loving. He relates easily to the youth as well as
to the seniors. Pastor Williams is excited about the works God is doing, the
works God has done and the gracious works he’s going to do in the body of New Hope Baptist Church. Through God’s Saving Grace we know we can
“reach the lost, teach the believers, thereby making disciples for Christ.“
